The ORF Lower Austria documentary “Zwischen Erbe und Zukunft” follows family-run businesses that are forging new paths between historical heritage and modern entrepreneurship. At the heart of the film are individuals who do not see their history as a nostalgic reminder of the past, but as a foundation for innovation, sustainability, and long-term business success. Through on-site visits and personal conversations, the documentary offers a rare insight into the lives and work of traditional family businesses. It explores how historical identity, economic innovation, and social change are interconnected — and asks whether tradition can still be a decisive factor for success in the 21st century.
