Kathrin (Inka Friedrich) needs a new kidney. Her husband Arnold (Samuel Finzi) could donate one of his, but he is in no great hurry to selflessly come to his wife's aid with such a life-saving gift. Their mutual friend Götz (Thomas Mraz), on the other hand, volunteers as a donor without hesitation—much to the displeasure of his wife Diana (Pia Hierzegger). Two potential kidney donations put two marriages and the friendship between four people to the ultimate test. A film about questioning everything that seems self-evident—and about how easily appearances can be deceiving. A comedy about profound love that touches not the kidneys, but the heart itself.
