For almost 40 years, scientists have been studying the phenomenon of fairy circles. These mysterious, circular patches of bare ground can be observed in southern Africa, particularly in the deserts of Namibia. Viewed from the air, they appear as thousands of red dots against a green backdrop, as the bare patches are surrounded by rings of tall, dense grass that stand out from the otherwise sparse vegetation. What causes these fairy circles remains a scientific mystery to this day.
Barbara Fally-Puskás’s documentary sets out to uncover the secret behind this fascinating phenomenon.
