Land der Berge: Winterreise durchs Alpbachtal

This film is a journey through winter in the Alpbach Valley, tracing paths across extraordinary mountain landscapes, enchanting villages, and vast winter sports areas. It follows footprints and ski tracks, sleigh tracks left by horse-drawn carriages, and invisible paths taken by gondola up to the region’s new landmark, the Top of Alpbachtal—a shingle-clad observation tower offering spectacular panoramic views in all four directions.

Between the stories lies the snow-covered landscape, the radiant mountains, the beauty of the Alpbach Valley, its wooden architecture, and the crisp sounds of winter. In its silence, the poetic passages by Berta Margreiter seem to immerse themselves and breathe in harmony with the season.

A film by Karin Fürhapper and Stephan Pichl.
