The director and her 97-year-old grandfather set out to trace the life of their ancestor, Tivadar Puskás, the famous Hungarian inventor.
At the end of the 19th century, Tivadar Puskás traveled around half the world and was a true Renaissance man of his time. His passion for innovation led him to Thomas A. Edison. Together, they put the first telephone into operation. From that moment on, the Hungarian “HALOM!” — “I hear you!” began its triumphant journey.
The telephone exchange and the now world-famous word “Hello!” are only a small part of Tivadar Puskás’s achievements. Using archival footage, original materials, and on-location investigations, the documentary portrays his eventful life and his inventions, which laid the foundations for the Information Age.
