“Die Nichte des Polizisten” (The Policeman's Niece) tells the story of young police officer Rebecca Hasselbach, who is murdered in Heilbronn in 2007 – a case based on the real-life, unsolved murder of police officer Michèle Kiesewetter. The film sheds light on the connections between right-wing extremists, organized crime, and parts of the police force that Rebecca uncovers. Despite her uncle's attempt to protect her by transferring her to Baden-Württemberg, Rebecca's knowledge of criminal activities in her home town becomes a deadly threat to her.
