Johanna Maiwald is a veterinarian, and her practice in the idyllic village of Maria Alm in the Salzburg region is the only one far and wide. The energetic woman passionately cares for all the animals rural life has to offer — from a cow with stomach problems, a poisoned cat, and a depressed dog to an injured calf. Johanna loves and lives her profession with heart and dedication. Her open nature, quick wit, and strong sense of justice lead her to recognize and tackle not only animal-related challenges, but human ones as well.
