Bergbauernleben im Lesachtal

This documentary captures the picturesque Lesach Valley through the changing seasons and portrays the daily life of the Lugger mountain farming family. The Lesach Valley is considered a natural gem and one of the most pristine valleys in Europe. Nestled between the Lienz Dolomites to the north and the Carnic Alps to the south, it forms the southwesternmost part of Carinthia.

Here, the Lugger family lives on a traditional farmstead that father and son dismantled at its original location and rebuilt on the present site. The family has established several pillars to sustain their life as mountain farmers: grain cultivation and bread baking, a small dairy operation, lush alpine meadows, forestry, and tourism. Their guiding principle is simple: everything in harmony with nature.
