All over the world, roses speak an unmistakable language. For thousands of years, they have captivated humanity, and the diversity of their names and varieties reflects history and stories. One of the most famous varieties, Gloria Dei, has also elevated the rose to a symbol of peace. It is the most successful garden rose of all time.
Using this world-famous rose as a starting point, “Universum” filmmaker Barbara Fally-Puskás tells the story of rose breeding, the countless varieties newly created by humans, and their ancestors among the wild roses.
