Who would have thought Venice has its own coral reefs? The Tegnue, located on the east of the lagoon. Like all the other amazingly diverse wildlife of the city once called “Europe’s Drawing Room” they have been influenced by centuries of human geo-engineering. Venice today is still a habitat for a wide range of animals – like one of the world’s rare poisonous mammals: the Eurasian water shrew.

This stunning blue chip documentary – filmed in 4k with high quality 3d animations – reveals the natural life of the World Heritage site of Venice, and explains the geological origin and evolution of this fascinating place.
