Hubert has a new girlfriend and an ex-wife with two children. The ex-wife is pregnant from her new boyfriend, who has a son. The patchwork-life is getting along pretty well, even though not everybody is particularly fond of each other. On Hubert’s mother’s birthday the whole family gathers and the new girlfriend should be introduced at last. But it gets apparent that the old, heart-sick lady doesn’t seem to know about the changes in Hubert’s private life. To protect her the truth is concealed and everybody acts as if nothing has changed.

In the end everybody is exhausted, hurt, drunk and nobody knows if any of the relationships still makes any sense.
